Keningau

Keningau is one of the oldest and largest town located in the interior of Sabah. The name “Keningau” is derived from the Javanese cinnamon tree which is locally known as “Koningau”. Just like most other districts in Sabah, it is a multi-racial place with Dusun and Murut being the major ethnics. Keningau is surrounded by green and beautifully shaped hills all around it. Located about two-hours drive from Kota Kinabalu, Keningau is a place worth considering a visit for.
